More domestic flights due to growing Tet demand

To meet heightened travel demand during Tet (Lunar New Year), the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) is requiring domestic airlines to increase flights, Intellasia has reported.

Flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Vinh, Thanh Hoa and Da Nang will be increased during Tet, most notably from Jan. 20 to 31.

Vietnam Airlines will add 56 flights on routes between Ho Chi Minh and places such as Hai Phong, Hue, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Da Nang, Quang Nam and Phu Quoc.

More precisely, there will be 10 more flights between Ho Chi Minh and Hai Phong, six from the city to Thanh Hoa, two to Da Nang, 16 to Vinh, 14 to Hue, six to Quang Nam and two to Phu Quoc.

Vietnam Airlines Group, which includes Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific and Vasco said an additional 2.23 million seats would be offered on domestic flights during Tet.

Vietjet, a budget airline, will add 1,200 flights during the Lunar New Year. Two new A321 aircraft will be used for the additional flights.

Bamboo Airways, the country’s newest airline, will add 3,600 more domestic flights to meet increasing demand over the Tet holiday.
