Vietnam has confirmed six more cases of Covid-19, taking the total
recorded nationwide to 169, Vn Express
reported Saturday.
Two of the new cases came from Hanoi’s Bach Mai Hospital, while
four were people returning from abroad.
The 164th patient is a 23-year-old man from Kien Giang Province who arrived in Vietnam on March 23 on flight VN54 from London.
“Patient
165” is a 58-year-old man who arrived on the same flight who tested positive on
March 26.
The 166th patient is a 25-year-old woman from Bac Giang Province in northern Vietnam. She returned to Vietnam from Thailand on Thai Airways flight TG564 on March 23.
The 167th patient is a 20-year-old Danish woman staying in Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem District. She landed in Hanoi with her boyfriend on March 8, and stayed in the northern highlands from March 12 to 15, and then they traveled throughout Vietnam before flying from Danang back to Hanoi on March 23.
Patients 168 and 169 both work at Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi. They both tested positive for the coronavirus after nearly 5,000 employees and patients at the hospital had to take the test.
Vietnam has discharged 20 of the 169 cases so far, with the majority of active cases Vietnamese and foreigners who have entered the country from Europe in the last three weeks.
So far
Covid-19 had infected 600,000 people worldwide in 200 territories and regions,
killing more than 27,000 people.
