Vietnam’s ministry of health registered nine more community cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday morning, according to VN Express, all related to the outbreak in Hai Duong Province.
The new cases included two in Hai Duong, four in Gia Lai, two in Binh Duong and one in Hanoi.
Patents 1,883 to 1,891 have all been in contact with infected persons in Hai Duong Province, the current epicenter of the outbreak.
Wednesday’s cases have raised the number of cases nation wides since the third wave began on Jan. 28 to 310, including 226 in Hai Duong, 38 in Quang Ninh and 21 in Hanoi.
The health minister Nguyen Thanh Long said that all cities and provinces should hasten progress in all steps in the fight against the virus, especially testing, since the current outbreak was causes by the U.K. variant that has a 70% higher transmission rate and shorter incubation period.
Covid-19 has infected more than 104 million people worldwide, killing more than 2.25 million.
