723 Garden Hill residents test negative for Covid-19

The Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC) has announced that the 723 testing samples collected at the Garden Hill apartments related to “Patient 2,009” have turned out all negative, VN Express has reported. 

Khong Minh Tuan, deputy director of CDC Hanoi, said the number of negative tests included all remaining residents in apartment buildings A and B of Garden Hill. The two buildings have 375 apartments and more than 1,200 residents were tested. 

The two apartment buildings are still under lockdown, awaiting test results of all related cases. Hanoi is still tracing people who left the buildings in recent days, and has issued an urgent notice to find people who have been in contact with the new cases. 

On Feb. 7 and 8, Hanoi has reported three new Covid cases, all related to Garden Hill. 

Vietnam’s Ministry of Health recorded 470 community cases of Covid-19 in 12 provinces since Jan. 28. In which, Hai Duong is a major outbreak site with 321 cases, Quang Ninh has 53 cases, and Hanoi has 26 cases. Ho Chi Minh City has become a new epidemic cluster, with 29 cases recorded. The source of infection in this epidemic cluster is currently unknown.
