After being closed for almost a month because of the coronavirus, a number of border markets in Quang Ninh, Vietnam and Guangxi, China have begun normal trade again, Intellasia has reported.
After negotiations between Vietnam and China, border trading resumed on Feb. 25 in Hai Yen Ward, Mong Cai City in Quang Ninh and Dongxing in Guangxi.
The time needed for customs declarations will also be increased by
an hour and a half.
Vietnamese exporters of goods that have commercial contracts will
be able to apply for customs clearance. Farm products, seafood, cashew and
cassava powder will be prioritized.
On Feb 26. there was over $200 million worth of goods ready for customs clearance.
The Industry and Trade minister said that the Transport and
Finance ministries should look at taxes and fees and develop measures to lower
transport costs and costs of berth and warehousing in order to help businesses
affected by Covid-19.
