Hanoi confirmed a new domestic case of Covid-19 in the capital Wednesday evening, as well as three more across the country, according to VN Express, effectively ending Hanoi’s record of 107 days with no community transmission.
“Patient 447” is a male staff member at a pizza restaurant in Tran Thai Tong street, Cau Giay District of Hanoi. He resides in Nam Tu Liem District. Both locations have been locked down.
Currently receiving treatment in National Hospital of Tropical Disease, the patient previously travelled to Danang with 29 others, the report said.
As of now, 69 F1 cases, those suspected to have been in direct exposure with the infected person, are getting their samples tested and have been relocated for quarantine.
Hanoi is planning to test all those who have returned from Danang city.
There has been 35 cases of domestic transmission in Vietnam since July 25, all having roots in Danang. There have been 26 in Danang, three from Quang Nam Province, one from Quang Ngai, one from Dak Lak, two from Ho Chi Minh and one from Hanoi.
Covid-19 has infected nearly 17 million people worldwide in over 200 countries and regions, killing over 660,000.
Vietnam has not recorded a single death from the coronavirus.
