Vietnam offers free health care to anyone showing coronavirus symptoms

Vietnam will offer any person affected by the coronavirus or suspected of carrying it, free testing across the country, VnExpress has reported.

Testing done for fever, coughing and breathing problems will be covered by the Vietnam Social Insurance (VSI) health fund. Any further tests and treatment of coronavirus will also be covered.

Le Van Phuc, head of the department of health insurance policy implementation at VSI, said: “The VSI is also working with the Ministry of Health on the treatment of other diseases or problems arising during the treatment process.”

There have been 10 confirmed infections of the virus across the country, in three of the cases the individuals have fully recovered and been let out of the hospital.

There are now 78 suspected cases in quarantine, a decrease from 90 on Tuesday.

More than 400 people who have come into close contact with infected individuals are being closely watched.

Since Thursday morning, the global death toll from coronavirus has reached 565, with 28,200 confirmed cases, with 1,170 cases of people fully recovered.
