Across Vietnam the academic school year 2019-2020 will continue until the end of June, due to delays caused by the coronavirus outbreak, DTI News has reported. Normally, the school year goes until the end of May, but due to the amount of classes missed during this epidemic, students will attend school until the end of June.

Primary and secondary graduation will take place before July 1, and the national high school exam will be on July 23 to 26, according to the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET). Enrollment in 10th grade will need to start before Aug. 15.

It has not been decided, but it is likely that students will be allowed back to school March 2 pending the Ministry of Health’s decision.

If there are some localities that do not want students to go back to school by March 2, they will still have to stick to the above schedule for exams, graduations and enrollment.

Preventative measures and close monitoring are heavily prescribed by MoET.

The Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has asked schools, parents and students to help keep the school environment clean and safe in regards to the COVID-19 epidemic.
