1 new Covid-19 case registered in Vietnam

One new case of the coronavirus was registered in Vietnam on Saturday, Vietnam News has reported, with the national total now at 258.

The 258th patient is a 47-year-old woman from Hanoi’s Ha Loi Village, and the mother of “Patient 257,” a 15-year-old girl who was confirmed as carrying the virus on Friday.

A total of 144 of Vietnam’s 258 Covid-19 cases have now recovered and been released from hospital after successful treatment.

The coronavirus has now infected over 1.7 million people in over 200 countries and regions worldwide, killing over 103,000.
