Vietnam has now gone six days without reporting a single new cases of the coronavirus, according to government figures Wednesday morning

The country now just has 52 remaining active cases, with 216 of the country’s 268 total cases having been successfully treated

Vietnam’s last case was confirmed Thursday morning, a 16-year-old girl from the Hmong minority in a remote village in Dong Van District of Ha Giang Province in north Vietnam.

Many people are hoping that the run of zero cases mean that the last day of the governments strict social distancing policy that is affecting many cities and regions will end on April 22, but an announcement has not yet been made.

Vietnam currently has over 67,000 people in quarantine.

The coronavirus had now infected 2.5 million people in 200 countries and regions worldwide, killing over 177,000.
