Vietnam goes 4 days with no new Covid-19 cases

Vietnam has now gone four days without reporting a single new cases of the coronavirus, according to government figures Monday morning

The country now just has 66 remaining active cases, with 202 of the country’s 268 total cases having been discharged after successful hospital treatment.

Vietnam’s last case was confirmed Thursday morning, a 16-year-old girl from the Hmong minority in a remote village in Dong Van District of Ha Giang Province in north Vietnam.

The situation will bolster those hoping that the country will end its strict social distancing measures, which are currently set to run until April 22 in many areas across the country.

Currently over 63,000 people nationwide are being quarantined.

The coronavirus had now infected 2.5 million people in 200 countries and regions worldwide, killing over 165,000.
