Vietnam confirmed one new case of Covid-19 on Tuesday, according to Vietnam News.
The 266th patient is a 36-year-old woman who resides in Thuong Tin District of Hanoi. She is believed to have contacted the virus when visiting her mother at Hanoi’s Bach Mai hospital, an outbreak hotspot.
The country has had 266 Covid-19 cases so far with no deaths, but the number of active cases is now down to just 97 as the majority have been released from hospital after successful treatment. Twenty-three were released on Tuesday alone, including 17 from Hanoi.
The coronavirus has been contracted by almost 2 million people worldwide in over 200 countries and regions, killing over 120,000.
