Vietnam goes 27 days with no domestic Covid-19 transmission

Vietnam confirmed no new cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday morning, the 27th consecutive day with no community transmission, according toVn Express.
The country has reported 288 cases of the virus so far, with the latest batch being 17 citizens repatriated from the United Arab Emirates who were confirmed with the virus last Thursday.
Of the total only 36 “active” cases remain, the rest having fully recovered after treatment in hospital.
On Tuesday the World Health Organization Representative to Vietnam Kidong Park praised Vietnam’s response to the virus.
“I want to spend time analyzing and summarizing what Vietnam has done to prevent and fight the pandemic and share that with the international community,” he said, adding that he felt very safe living in the country.
The coronavirus has infected more than 4.2 million people worldwide in over 200 countries and territories, killing over 292,000.
Vietnam has registered no deaths.
