Hanoi Networking is back for its second social to connect professionals in and around the nation’s capital. The first event, held in Hanoi Cider House in October, was well-attended, fun and saw guests appreciating the laid-back, unpretentious atmosphere, with several business being meeting penned in–as of yet there has yet to be a Hanoi Networking wedding, but who knows?

For part deux, craft-beer specialists The Bottle Shop will take the reins as hosts, with plenty of complementary craft liquor available if things get a bit chilly, or even if they don’t.

There will be free tasters from some of Vietnam’s best craft liquor brands, as well as the chance to win big in a raffle if you bring a business card.

Meeting opportunities head-on

Vietnam is unique. The country has the world’s 36th largest economy but has a GDP per capita of just 2,700 U.S.dollars, according to the World Bank. Still, GDP per capita has soured up 2.7 times since 2002 and is projected to increase another four times by 2030.

What does all of this mean?

In a word: opportunity.

Vietnam a country that has risen from the ashes to become one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. A place where everyone and their grandma is selling something (and usually with a smile while they do it). Hanoi, in particular, is a place where you can make things happen – if you know the right people.

Connecting the dots

Hanoi Networking is on a mission to bring people in the city together, both locals and expatriates.

“Our first event at Hanoi Cider House drew in a decent crowd and awesome feedback,” says event organizer Billy Gray, over a glass of (we are guessing comped) Son Tinh Tao Meo. “People liked the relaxed, no-tie atmosphere, plus there was free beer, so go figure. The hope is that these events turn into a monthly staple on the calendar of everyone in Hanoi who wants to do something other than teach English.”

Remember to bring a business card to the event for the chance to win a month-long internship at Chao Hanoi’s pending office in Hawaii or, you know, Long Bien.
