9 more community-based coronavirus cases confirmed in Vietnam

The Ministry of Health announced a total of nine community coronavirus cases in Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong and Hanoi on Friday morning.

According to VN Express, Hai Phong and Bac Ninh, each has one new case. Both patients are related to the recent outbreak in Chi Linh City, Hai Duong.

Quang Ninh recorded two new cases, increasing the total number of cases in the city to 12. Hai Duong saw a surge in the number of cases, as 72 were recorded yesterday, with four new cases being announced this morning.

A new coronavirus case was also announced this morning in Hanoi. Patient 1,581 resides in Hai Ba Trung District and is related to patient 1,553.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Vietnam has risen to 1,651, with 1,430 recovered and 35 deaths.

Currently, all patients are in stable condition. A total of 21, 000 people who have been in close contact with the confirmed cases are being quarantined.

Chi Linh city, Hai Duong has been placed under lockdown for 21 days since 12 p.m of Jan. 28, and Hai Duong Province also has to practice social distancing on different levels in each area within the city.

The Ministry of Health advised every citizen to follow health guidelines, including wearing facial masks, distancing, no gathering in crowds, sanitizing and declaring health status.
