Everyone arriving in Vietnam from abroad will have to undergo a two-week quarantine from Saturday as the country tries to limit the spread of Covid-19, Vn Express has reported.
The Vietnam Aviation Administrations told the Transport Ministry Friday to immediately alert all passengers of the new ruling.
Consular workers and diplomats will quarantine in their
homes while being supervised by authorities in their locality.
All passengers will have to do a compulsory health check declaration and have their temperature checked before getting on any aircraft. All planes will also be sterilized before making flights into the country.
Immigration, military, customs and health authorities have
been asked by the Transport Ministry to complete all due processes at the
airport speedily, so passengers are not at the airport for more than 90
minutes.
The country’s National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention said Friday that the country needed to adjust and strengthen its containment strategy, and that all government agencies needed to take measures to ensure people were not infected by the many hundreds of thousands of people who have recently entered Vietnam, many from infected areas.

Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said that authorities should step up the
review and detection of suspected cases, alongside the quarantine of all people
entering the country.
Vietnam stopped issuing visas to all foreigners on March 18. Any exemptions, such as for relatives of Vietnamese citizens, must have an authorized certificate to say they do not have Covid-19.
As of publishing, Vietnam has had 91 confirmed cases of the coronavirus.
