Hanoi citizens have to self-quarantine and report when they have visited epicenters or been in contact with positive cases of Covid-19. The city’s President Chu Ngoc Anh said the move was to strengthen prevention against the coronavirus during the Tet holidays, according to VN Express.
The city’s president ordered such cases to contact local medical agencies to get testing kits and instructions on protection measures. He also stressed that authorities should apply strict penalties to those who fail to report or intentionally report false information.
On Feb. 9, a positive case from South Tu Lien District faced a 15 million VND fine because they were exposed to an infected case but did not report it.
Authority staff must work regularly and are not allowed to leave the city. In force majeure cases, they must report to the superior administration.
According to the Health Ministry, community infections have occurred in Hai Duong Province, Quang Ninh Province, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Gia Lai Province, Binh Duong Province, Bac Ninh Province, Dien Bien Province, Hai Phong, Bac Giang Province and Ha Giang Province. Many local areas have shut down, with people being isolated and practicing social distancing to prevent the virus spreading.
Vietnam has now registered 2,069 Covid-19 cases, including 1,474 recoveries and 35 deaths.
