As commercial flights start to resume to six international regions on Sept. 22, those entering the country must pay about 1.47 million VND (63 U.S. dollar) for two compulsory Covid-19 tests and quarantine stay, VN Express has reported.
The Health Ministry stated on Monday that foreigners staying for more than 14 days must register to get tested twice through the real-time reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), costing 734,000 VND each.
They must also pay for the added rapid test kits, costing 238,000 VND.
Passengers flying must provide specified information before boarding, including passport, visa and a certificate from a Vietnamese agency stating that have tested negative for Covid-19.
Foreigners staying for less than 14 days will not be subject to quarantine camps, and instead will self-quarantine at the workplace or facilities they stay or at.
If Covid-19 test results turn positive, they will be admitted to local hospitals for treatment.
As of today, Vietnam officially has 1,068 cases of the novel coronavirus, with 83 in treatment and 35 deaths.
The country has had no community transmission of coronavirus for 20 days.
