Those who arrive in Vietnam will be required to pay the minimum fee of 120.000 VND (5.16 U.S. dollars) during their compulsory quarantine period at local facilities from Sept. 1, Vietnamplus has reported.
The fee includes food (80.000 VND) and daily necessities (40.000 VND) for staying at areas allocated by the authorities. Those who wish to stay at hotels and resorts will pay a separate fee of 1.2-5 million VND per day.
According to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, every foreigner who enters must take and pay for Covid-19 tests themselves. Vietmanese citizens will still receive free tests and treatments.
Vietnam will resume commercial flights to six international countries, including China, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan from Sep. 15, and Laos and Cambodia from Sep. 22.
Currently only certain groups of people are allowed to enter the country, including foreign experts, skilled workers, international students and family members of Vietnamese citizens.
Vietnam has recorded 35 deaths, and 1,066 Covid-19 cases. The country has had no community transmission of coronavirus for the past two weeks.
