Vietnam to start human testing of Covid-19 vaccine

Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology company will begin their first human trials of a Covid-19 vaccine next week. This test will be divided into three periods, according to Zing news.
The first trial will focus on the correct vaccine quantiy, with testing lasting for a month, starting on Dec 17. The volunteer group will consist of 40 to 60 people, ranging from 18 to 50 years old. This group will then be divided into three groups getting tested for three different amounts of the vaccine: 25 mg, 50 mg and 75 mg.
The second trial is planned for next year on Jan. 21. Its secondary phase should last around three months, with the number of volunteers rising to 600.
The last trial will be held around April 2021, though specific details have not been announced.
The Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology company expects to launch their Covid-19 vaccine in May 2021. A single does will cost in the region of 500,000 VND.
