Vietnam registers 40 more Covid-19 cases

Vietnam confirmed 40 more cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday night, according to Vietnam News.

Of the new cases 38 were in Hai Duong Province, one in Quang Ninh Province and one in Hanoi. A total of 34 cases are linked to those confirmed earlier in the province’s clusters and all have been quarantined.

The final four patients are members of a family detected in the community after developing symptoms of coughing and high fever. They are being treated at a field hospital at Hai Duong Medical Technical University.

The city of Hanoi has ordered the closure of of streetside stalls, monuments, temples and pagodas since Tuesday to prevent the spread of virus.

The country has now registered 2,311 cases in total including 1,573 recoveries and 35 deaths.

Coronavirus has infected about 109 million people worldwide, killing over 2.4 million.
