A Vietnamese man has become a viral sensation on social media receivimg an income of between 50 and 100 million VND per month, according to Dan Tri News.

“Viet My” is the TikTok alias of Nguyen Van My, 24, from Hoa Vang, Danang. The young man is popular on TikTok, with almost 2 million followers and more than 28 million views thanks to the unique paintings created with different materials such as leaves, lemon, duct tape, rice and eggs

Nguyen joined TikTok in March 2020 and started to quickly rise; many people were intrigued by his videos of drawing famous celebrities such as rapper Binz and fashionista Chau Bui. Surprisingly, Nguyen did not attend any art school, but taught himself drawing from YouTube.

“During the time of the pandemic. I had a lot of free time so I used TikTok to document my paintings for fun. When my videos received many great responses from the public, I was very excited,” the young artist said.

According to Nguyen, in order to have quality videos, he had to create a lot of content himself, be creative, and come up with a range of ideas.

“Among the materials that I have used, I most enjoy drawing with eggs, I have tried many times to conquer that challenge,” he said. It usually takes Nguyen one to eight hours, depending on the difficulty of the painting.

TikTok recently awarded Nguyen with the trophy “Creator of the Year.”
