The capital is planning to have 10 more bridges crossing the Red River by 2050, VN Express has reported. The future bridges include Hong Ha, Me So (4th ring), New Thang Long, Tu Lien, Vinh Tuy (phase 2), and more.
Among the bridges above, the second phase of Vinh Tuy Bridge project is expected to start as early as January 2021, according to the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Board. The total budget will be 2.5 billion U.S dollars.
“The construction of new bridges will help improve the traffic convenience and meet the travel needs of people on both sides of the Red River,” said the Ministry of Transport.
Currently, Hanoi has 8 bridges: Thang Long, Chuong Duong, Vinh Tuy, Thanh Thi, Nhat Tan, Vinh Thinh, Long Bien, and Viet Tri – Ba Vi.
